Highlights of the Tokyo games.
There have been so many real highlights at the Tokyo games this year. Both the Olympics and Paralympics have been ‘edge of the seat’ exciting. The sound of records and personal bests can be heard smashing all over Tokyo.
The greatest moment, for me so far, was the GB Paralympic Team winning gold in the mixed wheelchair rugby.
Jim Roberts scored 24 tries at the Yoyogi National Stadium at the weekend securing the gold. It was close – 54-49 but we got there.
82 medals and counting and second in the medals table only after the home team. What a fantastic achievement and there are still a few days to go.
After the last 18 months of the pandemic, the Olympics and Paralympics (and the European footie final!) have helped to boost the nation’s spirits.
At Dymond Engineering a real highlight for us, was seeing our very own training tower the TX3 actually being used by Ian Marsden a GB Paracanoeist and hand cyclist. You can see from the picture above that the TX3 is easily holding its own as Ian is running through his pull up routine in his wheelchair.
We are so proud to have been even a small part of these amazing games.
Let’s hope for even more medals before the closing ceremony.
